The Kelp Congress
The Kelp Congress consists of three individual workshops and seminars as part of the Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF) in September 2019. The project takes a deeper look on kelp – and other types of seaweed – both as material and as an independent descriptor in modern cultural and industrial contexts such as food, art, science, agriculture, energy, and local history. The main objectives are to create new networks and to share knowledge between arts, local actors and scientific research. The Opstart funding supports the planning of the seminars and workshops.
